At times I feel the need to break with conventions, such as scale or expected behaviour based on appearance.
By this action I believe a new message is conveyed, a subconscious need is fulfilled.
When landscapes and characters come together I am often left with a slight sense of disquiet.
A feeling that they don't quite belong together.
Is altering the characters scale simply a way to suggest mans separation and perceived superiority over nature?
Are the landscapes a metaphor for an inner world constructed by me as a child, stored within some part of my mind?
The adults I bring to these images find the landscapes to be small places.
This is the experience I have myself, now.
When I visit these locations that were such a big part of my childhood, they feel small.
But full of power, and meaning.
